Our Early Morning Visitor

Evidently this rabbit wasn't very hungry because she didn't eat much as she wandered down my garden path. If she returns, I hope she sticks to the parsley I planted for the butterflies and leaves my flowers alone.

My New Buckeye Tree

I was worried my new buckeye tree wouldn't make it through the winter because it looked a little weak last fall but it's doing great. We purchased it at Toledo Botanical Garden's plant sale last year.

Two Years Later...

Okay, I'm not the best blogger. It's been two years since my first blog.
I'm starting this growing season with a new attitude; I'm going to plant only Northwest Ohio hardy plants. The reason for this is the watering factor. I'm going to count on Mother Nature and perhaps the long awaited rain barrel to irrigate my flowers. Last year I planted a Buckeye tree which made it through our mild winter. My delphiniums, which I planted last year, actually made it through the winter. I usually have to treat them like annuals. They must have known about my "new attitude". Pictures will follow soon.

May Flowers

Finally the threat of frost has passed and I can now rest easy knowing that my first plantings of the season will not be damaged while I sleep. I get over enthusiastic at the first sign of warm weather that fools me into thinking I can plant, plant, plant; then the temperatures go from 70 in the daytime to 35 at night and I beat myself up and tell myself I should know better, but autumn and winter is long in northwestern Ohio and I've been planning since January, so I go for it. I've posted some photos of parts of my gardens. The Iris is one of my favorites, one of my numerous favorites, that is.
